Now there is a new Gear that once again appears to be capable of independent thought. To combat this menace, a group called the Sacred Order of Holy Knights was formed and ultimately defeated Justice and his renegades. Named only as Justice, this supremely powerful being quickly recruited Gears from across the world and declared war against mankind. These new weapons, which blindly followed orders, became know as Gears.Īs battles raged using these new biological weapons, one Gear stepped out of the ranks and demonstrated a capacity for independent thought. This newfound capability had a price, however, as warring nations still battled and soon new biological weapons of incredible power were developed. Through this ability, a limitless source of energy could be harnessed, creating a society that even outlawed scientific thought. Robo-Ky is also introduced in this game as Ky Kiske's unlockable GG Mode version.Ī new version of the game called Guilty Gear X Ver.1.5 was released for arcades in 2003, adding Testament and Dizzy as base playable characters and granting several characters new moves taken directly from the game's sequel, Guilty Gear XX.For the first time in history, mankind had discovered the ability to control the power of magic. Testament and Dizzy are unlockable characters in home releases.Īn updated port for PS2 called Guilty Gear X Plus was released in Japan in 2001, adding Gallery Mode, an enhanced Story Mode and reintroducing Kliff Undersn and Justice as unlockable chatacters. Johnny, Venom, Anji Mito and Jam Kuradoberi make their debuts as playable characters and Dizzy makes her debut as the game's boss. Baldhead, removes Kliff Undersn and Justice from the playable cast and makes Baiken a base playable character. ![]() Guilty Gear X introduces Faust in place of Dr. The series mainstay mechanic, Roman Cancel, is introduced in this game.
